Entrepreneur’s Organization (EO) is a global organization with 191 chapter locations in 61 countries and EO Coimbatore is part of the South Asia region. The Coimbatore chapter has 80 members from diverse sectors and employs 50,000 employees with combined sales of over $ 4.5 billion and is one of the most awarded, recognized and highly active EO chapter in South Asia Region. EO Coimbatore hosted Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2020 (EOTY) in the city on Friday.
EO Coimbatore hosted the 7th edition of EOTY and the event was attended by around 300 business owners hailing from versatile organizations and industries of the region. This year around 200 applications were been received for various award categories. A dedicated judging committee and a panel consist of EO members and eminent jury of veteran industrialists shortlisted the finalist in each category based on various parameters like Innovation, Industry leadership, CSR activities and so on. Award presentation happened during EOTY Awards day on 6th March 2020 at The Residency Towers, Coimbatore.
EO Entrepreneur of the Year Award was presented to Senthil Kumar V, Propel Industries Pvt. Ltd; Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year was Megha Asher, Juicy Chemistry Pvt. Ltd; Life Time Achievement Award was given to Soundararajan Bangarusamy, Founder, Suguna Foods and Women Entrepreneur of the Year was given to Umarajeswari P, Premier Pipes.
As part of the EOTY Awards night, EO Coimbatore also hosted a learning session with the chief guest Subramaniyan Swamy – An Indian Politician, Economist and Statistician who serves as a Member of Parliament in Rajya Sabha and also holds PhD in economics from Harvard University. The guest of honour Vijay Mohan – A well renowned Business Tycoon and the Founder of Pricol Limited addressed the gathering. He is a pioneer in the business arena and has been inspiration to many. Bhupendra Chaubey – A Multifaceted personality and currently the Editor of CNN-News18 was the guest speaker. Apart from being as a Journalist, he is also a News Anchor, Columnist & Opinion Maker, Blogger and Twitter influencer.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajnikanth – President, EO Coimbatore and Mr. Balaji Jagadeesan, EOTY Chair said, EO Coimbatore Chapter was founded in the year 2010 and we are one of the most active chapter in India. In a year, EO Coimbatore hosts minimum 12 learning events on an average along with several events of different themes and objectives including engagement with the entrepreneurial community. Entrepreneur of the Year Awards (EOTY) is our flagship event and this is the 6th consecutive year we are organizing EOTY. It is essentially a day for celebrating the spirit of entrepreneurship in the Coimbatore region. We congratulate all the finalists and winners of EOTY 2020 and thank the distinguished guests who participated in the evening.
