FLO advocates for Equal Opportunities

FICCI Ladies Organization Coimbatore Chapter organized ‘2020 Women’s Power Summit’, in connection with International Women’s Day celebration. The event held in Radisson Blu Coimbatore saw more than 250 women who belong to the industry, academics, NGO and other streams participate in the program.

Poonam Bafna, Chairperson, FLO Coimbatore Chapter welcomed the gathering. Swathy Rohit, Event Chair and Past Chairperson, FLO Coimbatore Chapter touched upon the theme of this year’s Intl.Women’s Day celebration- Each For Equal.

Jayanti Reddy, Fashion Designer; Lakshmi Manju, Film Actress; Archana Kalpatti, Film Producer, Mridula Ramesh, Environmentalist; Farah Agarwal, Interior Designer; Mitali Mukherjee, Journalist; Meenakshi Ramesh, Social Entrepreneur and Shanti Mohan, Angel Investor shared their story, spoke to the gathering about the role of women and the challenges in their respective fields.

Commenting about the event, Poonam Bafna said “ This year we (FLO) thought something different  from giving away awards. That is why we brought different speakers from across India, and it has been received well”. “Women have lot of empowerment but they need equal opportunities to achieve”, stressed Swathy Rohit.

During the event, it was announced that training would be given to 20 women to drive cars and help them excel as highly skilled professionals.
