Innerwheel Club of Coimbatore West helps anganwadi get clean toilets

The world universally agrees that Cleanliness is next to Godliness. Children in the underdeveloped areas need to be taught of this precept along with every other virtues. One of the major drawback an anganwadi in Ambedkar Nagar, Vilankurichi, Coimbatore faced was that it lacked a proper toilet and bathroom facility. It is near this anganwadi, Jaya, Founder of Sanskriti Foundation teach After-School Enrichment Classes.

Seeking assistance to build a toilet/bathroom facility in this anganwadi, Jaya approached many people but the help was far from them. When this need fell in the ears of President of Innerwheel Club of Coimbatore West Molly Varghese, she immediately sponsored Rs.75,000 to help build that needed sanitation facility, so that the children can benefit from the facility and know more about proper personal hygiene.

Club members Soundari & Neena contributed ₹5000each & the club donated ₹11,000/ to lay the flooring . The children were sitting in the mud floor until last week but now, that is changed by the act of charity done by the club.

President Molly Varghese said that the members will come periodically to inspect how the toilet/bathroom is maintained, how the children are taught about using the facility and benefit out of it. She said “kids will have to wash their hands for minimum 20 seconds after using restrooms”.
