Yugam to exhilarate & harness youth’s brilliance

Cultural programs are a rage among student-community, through which they unleash their brilliance in traditional and modern events. But Kumaraguru College of Technology’s Yugam 2020, a mega cultural program differs much from the rest, as it adds an energy packed sports, technology and pro-show events along with a soul-lifting societal developments activities. True to the theme of this year’s Yugam – Infinity, more than 65+ tech event, 50+ cultural events, 70+ workshops and total cash prize of Rs.20 Lakhs is awaiting for the participants to cherish.

Known for its crowd-pulling programs, last year’s Yugam saw participation of 12,000 students from 500 colleges coming from different parts of the country. This year the organisers are expecting about 20,000 participants.

Yugam 2020 is from Feb 29 to March 7 and some of the events are ongoing this very minute. The student organizers led by faculty Co-ordinator Prof. Vijiliesh announced that there will be a 48 Hours Hackathon. What makes this event special is that the 150 participants will be working on problem statements from Agriculture.

Coming to the sports side, District Level Ball Badminaton, State Level  Kabbadi  and South India Level Basketball are on-going and through another program called Inspire India Youth Con, 35+ inspiring speakers are addressing in the participants.

One of the amazing programs to look forward is Socio Constant. The students of KCT will be visiting 20 schools, (with major preferences to government schools) and teach 6-12 th grade students about engineering concepts.

A special mention about Angaadi, is a must. More than 80 stalls are made for NGOs, Government Organisation, start-ups, MNC in textile, jewellery, fast food, automobiles etc. Even a Defence Expo is planned to take place in the event. With all this, the organizers have made Yugam 2020 a must-visit for the college students, both state and nation-wide.
