Sea of students splash talent at Nehru College

Nehru College of Management’s signature cultural event Genesis 2020 was organised recently. The annual one day event is a platform for students to compete and unveil their latent skills and abilities among their generation through various events like Dance, Mime, TIK TOK etc. 

The UG Intercollegiate meet was inaugurated at P. K. Das Memorial Hall with Mahesh Dharam, Founder & CEO of Kandee Factory, TJ Dharam Global Foods Pvt. Ltd., Chennai delivering the Inaugural Address and Shri. J. Dileep, Regional Brand Manager – TN & KL, Ashirvad Pipes, Chennai  gracing the occasion as Guest of Honour. 

In the Presidential address, Dr. P. Krishna Kumar, CEO & Secretary, Nehru Group of Institutions, as excited and energetic as ever to see the youngsters bringing the house down with their brilliant performances, emphasized the importance of extracurricular activities at colleges.  

Dr. R .Moses Daniel, Principal, Nehru College of Management welcomed the gathering and drew out the mileage that the college has gained over the years. He observed the joy, eagerness and intensity with which the students participated in the event and saw it as an opportunity to grow and develop their talents and showcase their best talent forward in the field of their choice. 

Prof. P. Sivakumar, Professor NCM. Event Coordinator narrated the path travelled by NCM over the past 23 years. The Signature event was well described by another event coordinator Dr. E. Chandra Blessie, Professor NCM. 

Mahesh Dharam, Founder & CEO – Kandee Factory, TJ Dharam Global Foods Pvt. Ltd., Chennai, in his inaugural speech emphasized the importance of students participating in such events to benchmark themselves and meet the competition in the corporate world yet to be faced by them. 

Dileep, Regional Brand Manager – TN & KL, Ashirvad Pipes, Chennai recollected his college days described the platform provided for the youngsters in Genesis 2020 which also brought unity in diversity from various colleges that met together on a common platform without any inhibitions, which itself is an achievement of the highest kind. He extended his wishes to all the participants from various colleges and the organizers of this mega event encouraging them to do their best.

Dr. L. Karthikeyan, Director MBA NCM mentioned that college festivals were an ongoing trend and forms an integral part of the life of every student and the college itself. It makes them future-ready and offers a lot of learning beyond the regular classroom sessions. He expressed his wishes to all the participants.

Praveen B.S, Chairman Student Development Council expressed his gratitude to all participants, their college heads, Management and all those instrumental in making this function a grand success in his vote of thanks.

A fair judgment from a panel of experts made Genesis 2020 a hit among the young generation who are always keen on exploring new ways to bring their inborn talent to light. The offer to win loads of prizes after a win, the event was a whopping success that created a stimulating learning experience for every participant.  

Around 2843 students from 73 colleges in and around Tamil Nadu & Kerala participated and won Cash Award of Rs. 3,00,000 in this mega intercollegiate event, Genesis 2020. Ayyanadar Janakiammal College of Arts & Science, Sivakasi bagged the Overall Championship Trophy
