Kittuchami, a 104 year old farmer from Kerala suffered abdominal pain. When he was admitted to Liver and Gastro Care Hospital, it was found that the small intestine was obstructed due to narrow internal hernia ring.
Evaluating his physical health conditions and getting consent from his family members, Dr.S.Vijayakumar performed the surgery on Jan 16,2020. The operation lasted an hour and the patient recovered 24 hours after the surgery.
To convey this success, a press meet was arranged. Dr.S.Vijayakumar credited that Kittuchami did not suffer from any other ailments like diabetes, hypertension and asthma and also said that his teetotaler principle was an advantage in recovering from the surgery. The doctor interacted with Kittuchami. The centenarian said that he feels fine after the surgery.
