The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) organize the Convocation-2019 for Southern Region at Hindusthan Arts and Science College, Coimbatore. It awarded the associate membership of the institute to the newly qualified CS Members. 150+ members attended the convocation.
Dr.P.Kaliraj, VC, Bharathiar University was the Chief Guest and Rajesh Sodhi, Principal Commissioner, GST& Central Excise, Coimbatore, Ministry of Finance, Govt of India was the Guest of Honor. The Chief Guest congratulated the newly qualified company secretaries. The Guest of Honor urged the members to follow the path of truth and ethics in their future endeavors and guide the corporate world on corporate governance and compliances.
After the convocation, CS Ranjeet Pandey,President, ICSI said the institute has entered into an agreement with Bharathiar University, Coimbatore for awarding university toppers in the commerce stream with ICSI Signature Award and certificate. He also said that in the next year, 10 international offices will be opened.
The Covai Mail learned that this course could be pursued by any student who has successfully completed 12th standard can pursue Company Secretary course from ICSI. It is affordable even for people from the poor side of society. When the pursuer has proper training and understanding of the laws that a company has to follow, he/she can easily clear the exams and become a Company Secretary.
Even students from Biology or Science Group in 12th standard can pursue this course. There is a high demand for CS in India, and even a foreign company lands in India to do business, it must have a CS from India. So opportunities are abundant. All the students need to do is to clear the exams. A minimum of Rs.65,000 salary per month could be earned by Company Secretaries.
