Rs. 80 Crores worth Railway Properties damaged in CAA Protest

Vinod Kumar Yadav, Chairman of Railway Board, Govt of India has said that Eastern Railways has suffered the maximum damage during the CAA protests and the Railway Protection Force is identifying the miscreants.

The On-Going protest against Citizenship Amendment Act is hot in the country and in some places like West Bengal and Assam, the agitation is expressed in a disorderly manner. While it is unsure whether the damage to public properties, especially the damages made to railway properties is made completely by the protestors, the Chairman of Railway Board has stated that it is expecting the support from the State Governments to identify the vandals and recover the losses.

TOI reported that the Indian Railways is expecting to recover losses worth Rs.80 Crores. The Eastern Railways suffered a loss of Rs.70 Crores and the North East Frontier Railway lost about Rs.10 Crores in property-damages.  Vinod Kumar Yadav said that the amount is a preliminary estimation and it could go up.
