Without sports, life is incomplete

To motivate the school students to adopt to sports, the School Principals Association of the Coimbatore CBSE schools, Coimbatore Sahodaya Schools Complex has been organizing several competitions in different games. In continuation of this, the 42nd athletic meet, Saho Olympics 2019 was inaugurated on November 20th.The competitions are being held at Sri Shakthi International School.

75 schools from 6 Districts and around 2250 students are participating in the athletic meet. The inaugural ceremony was conducted on November 20th. The Chief guest for this event was the former Indian Hockey Team Captain Mr. Vasudevan Bhakaran .

The Vice Chairman of Sri Shakthi International school, Deepan Thangavelu along with the Chairman of Coimbatore Sahodaya Schools Complex Navamani, the Vice chairman Suguna Devi, participated in the event.

The Chief Guest in his inaugural address, said that without sports, the life of a man is incomplete. Physical activity is an important organ of life. There arises a question “if success could be achieved if sports is adapted as a Carrier?” It is a definite ‘yes’ and several of our ancestors who have achieved success are testimony to that. Coimbatore district has not only excelled in education but also in the field of sports in the recent years.

The inaugural race of 1500 mts in the under 19 yrs category Boys, was won by Sanjay of Angappa CBSE School, Rishi Varma of SSVM School bagged the second place and Sriram of PSBB Millenium won the 3rd place respectively. In the 800 mt, under 19 Category, Girls section, Vedharshini of SSVM won the 1st place, Pooja Shree of Suguna Pips School bagged the 2nd place and Yuvashree of Amritha Vidhyalaya, Ettimadai won the 3rd place.
