ICICI Bank opens 2 New Branches in Covai

ICICI Bank has announced that it has expanded its retail network in Tamil Nadu by adding 23 new branches this fiscal. This is part of the nationwide branch expansion initiative of the Bank. In FY’20, the Bank aims to open 450 new branches across the country, of which more than 385 have already been opened. Now 2 branches opened in Coimbatore. One in No.333/2, Site No.1, Ward 36, Sharp Gardens, Kalapatti, Coimbatore – 641 048 and another in No.47-A, 9th Street Extension, Gandhipuram, Coimbatore – 641 012.

Of these new branches in the state, two are in hitherto unbanked villages namely, Alagarai in Tiruchirappalli district and Arupathy in Nagapattinam District. Other branches have been opened in locations like Chennai, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Madurai, and Kanyakumari among others. The expansion in the state has resulted in the Bank now having a branch network of 508 branches and extension counters in Tamil Nadu along with 1650 ATMs. With this new addition, the Bank has the largest branch network among private sector banks.

This year also marks 25 years of commencement of the Bank’s first retail branch at Cenotaph Road in Chennai.

ICICI Bank now has a wide retail network of over 5260 branches across the country. The Bank’s branch footprint now covers locations across the country from Leh in Jammu & Kashmir to Nagercoil in Tamil Nadu, from Naliya in Gujarat to Aizawl in Mizoram. Nearly half of the branches are in rural and semi-urban areas to facilitate financial inclusion in the country.
