KCT signs MoU to bring new avenues in Textile and Fashion Technology

Department of Fashion Technology and Department of Textile Technology, Kumaraguru College of Technology  entered into an MoU with Master Linens Inc, a home textile manufacturing industry,  located in Karur, Tamil Nadu, India on 08.11.2019.

A.Sethupathi, MD of Master Linens Inc is KCT’s alumni, who completed his bachelor degree in the Department of Textile Technology during 1996 to 2000.

He signed the MoU on behalf of Master Linens INC and Dr. J Srinivasan, Principal, KCT signed on behalf of KCT. Dr. Bhaarathi Dhurai Professor/Fashion Technology and Dr. G Ramakrishnan, Professor& Head, Fashion Technology coordinated the MoU ceremony. Dr. C S Senthilkumar, Associate Professor_FT/Dr. S Kavitha, Assistant Professor-FT, Sooryapragash, Manager, Alumni Relations-KCT attended the MoU ceremony.

A Sethupathi visited Departments of Fashion/Textile/KCT-TIFAC CORE facilities and interacted with faculties. He also saw the products developed at KCT-TIFAC CORE and under the DST-SEED project. He visited the KCT Alumni cell and interacted with the coordinators.

Some of the objectives of the MoU includes: Apparel product designing, product development, plant engineering and other technical areas with mutual consent; Technical lectures by the personnel from Master Linens Inc in the areas of product development, product, and plant engineering, techno-economic of modernization and developments in manufacture and best practices in quality assurance and enterprise management.

The objectives also include assisting the students in acquiring through industrial visits, industrial training, consultancy, internship and practical exposure through project works.  Support the Departments of Fashion Technology and Textile Technology in enhancing the quality of curriculum, infrastructure and new subjects introduction pertaining to industrial needs.

The MoU also focuses to support research and development activities to meet industrial requirements, and to extend the testing, validation and performance analysis facilities through laboratory support to Master Linens Inc.
