KCT Freshmen make TN proud, win big at IISF 2019

Two freshmen of Kumaraguru College of Technology, Kailash.S (19BMC024) and Surya.R (19BMC016) with their mentor Sivaguru won first for the mission Make in India and they have won overall championship of the India International Science Festival (IISF) 2019 for their project AI biased project Infi Cycle-Future of Cycling.

The project was selected for its low cost-efficient design Authentic Design-Futuristic Looks Innovative Vehicle for a greener world.  Dr.Harshvardhan, Union Cabinet Minister for Science and Technology overviewed the project and appreciated the students to become an entrepreneur.

India International Science Festival (IISF) which was held in Kolkatta between 5-8 November is a celebration to promote Science and Technology and demonstrate how science could lead India towards a developed nation within a short span of time.

The aim is to engage the public with science and celebrate the joy of science and show the ways how science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) provide us with the solutions to improve our lives category of this expo was various themes introduced by the government to enhance future India like Make in India, Swachh Bharat etc.

It was the 5th edition of this expo. About 15,000 applicants registered from and around India through online. Around 100 students were shortlisted from them to display their models in the Indian Institute of Chemical Biology – CSIR salt lake campus in Kolkata on 6-7 November. The selected students are allowed to display their models these two days and further, they were evaluated by eminent juries from IIT, DRDO, NIT, and senior AI heads.

Two panel of judges made their appearance for evaluating the models in which The top 3 winners of IISF were invited to Rastrapathi Bhavan for a further conference of the project.It must be mentioned that the team from KCT is the only team from Tamil Nadu.
