To love Rotary, you need to know its magnanimity

Rotary Clubs of Coimbatore Midtown, Meridian, East, Manchester, Millenium ,Centennial and Kovaipudur hosted a Joint Club Speaker Meeting on 07.11.2019 in SIEMA Hall.

Rtn. Soma Jaiswal, Rotary Ballygunge South, RI District 3291, Kolkatta was the Invited speaker of the event. Her speech was on the theme “Rotary Connects The World”

She opened by bringing to the front the challenges and difficulties Rotary as an organization had to face. She said though there are various ways to connect with today’s world, Rotary’s way; the direct Human Connection has been helping since its inception to bridge various gaps and meet different express needs of society.

She brought forth 3 important figures in her Presentation- Florence Nightingale, Henry Dunant and Paul Harris; and underlined that the three share two traits: Empathy and Kindness, which are what every Rotarian should carry forward in their crusade.

She conveyed how the times during World War I, II and Great Depression were periods of unrest and struggle in the world and how dictators like Hitler and Mussolini banned Rotary.

She mentioned the execution of Rotarians in Warsaw and despite all that Rotary boldly spread peace.She highlighted Rotary immense work in curing the world from Polio.

She made it clear that to love Rotary one needs to know its magnanimity.
