Launches India’s 1st Elekta Infinity Digital Linear Accelerator & e-Book on Radiation Treatment

As India observes National Cancer Awareness Day on November 7th,  Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Oncology & Research (SRIOR), as its contribution in providing awareness about cancer, released an e-Book on ”  Radiation Treatment – Myths and Facts”.

The e-Book contains all the information related to radiation treatment- duration of the treatment, therapy related symptoms and side-effects, and steps to manage the immediate and late effects etc. The e-Book is prepared to answer most of the common questions the patients ask about Radiation Treatment.

The E-book was launched by D.Lakshminarayanasamy, Joint-Managing Trustee, SNR Sons Charitable Trust and the first copy was received by Dr.P.Sukumaran, Medical Director, Sri Ramakrishna Hospital.The E-book is available in the website www.cancerawarenesssrior.com or it is available to be downloaded as a Google – e-Book. By visiting Google Play store, and searching for SRIOR in the books segment this book can be found. It is available in both Tamil and English.

On the same occasion, Sri Ramakrishna Hospital inaugurated India’s First Elekta Infinity Digital Linear Accelerator with FFT and SRS, SRT treatment techniques – the most sophisticated radiation treatment delivery techniques. Along with these, patient services of Linac was also inaugurated by D.Lakshminarayanasamy in a private event at SRIOR.
