6th Graduation day at Dr. N.G.P. Institute of Technology

Dr. N.G.P. Institute of technology celebrated its 6th graduation day today (07-08-2017) at the N.G.P. conference center. Dr. Prof. V.S. Rao, President, NIIT University was the chief guest of the day. 531 graduates including 6 University Rank holders received the degrees of which 431 were undergraduates in the disciplines of Biomedical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electronic and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Information Technology and Mechanical Engineering. 100 students received their post graduate degrees in the disciplines of Master Business Administration, Master of Computer Applications, Master of Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering, Embedded System Technologies, Engineering Design and Power Electronics and drives after the conferment of degrees.

Dr.Nalla G Palaniswami, Chairman & MD, KMCH advised the students to learn the engineering concepts through practical means and also explore various avenues and opportunities available for the engineering students, besides knowledge required to fetch them good placements. Dr. N. Arun Palaniswami, Trustee, KMCRET gave the felicitation address.

Prof. Dr. V.S. RAO, President NIIT University underlined the aspects like Critical thinking, Collaboration and Communication, Creativity, Design thinking innovation, Disruptive innovation in the offing and then impact on enhancement of opportunities for the students.

Dr. O. T. Bhuvaneswaran, CEO, KMCRET explained about the challenges of modern day education. Dr. K. Porkumaran, Principal. Dr. N.G.P. IT presented the various achievements and student support initiatives being undertaken by the college. The Principal emphasized the grants received by college, industry alliances and corporate relationship, MOU’s, collaboration with a foreign university and establishment  of various industry power center’s like National Instrument Lab view academic, Oracle academy etc.

He also added about the establishment of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yogana centre with the support of All India Council for Technical Education, establishment of E-learning centers such as EDUSAT, NPTEL, EKLAVYA technology channel, IIT  Bombay spoken tutorial and learning management system. In his report, he also outlined the efforts taken by the college to provide international connectivity and professional growth to the students through the establishment of chapters like I EEE, ACM, CMA etc.
