FIMS Hospital launches 24 hours Orthopaedic and Trauma Centre

Also promotes Helmet Wearing Awareness among people

 A 24 hours Orthopaedic and Trauma Centre was inaugurated at FIMS Hospital in Sundarapuram here on 19th October 2019 Saturday. An 24/7 Free Emergency Helpline ambulance service was also launched on the occasion. P Perumal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime & Traffic), who was the chief guest, inaugurated the 24 hours Trauma and Emergency Care.

P.Perumal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime & Traffic), who launched the free ambulance services (8300 108 108) said: the number of vehicles on roads in the Coimbatore city is on the rise. People should drive their vehicles by adhering to traffic rules and regulations so that accidents can be averted.  They should save energy by judicious use of petrol and diesel.

They should use their personal vehicles only if there is a necessity and come forward to use public transport. If they come across any road accident they should come forward to rush the injured to the nearest hospital. Wear seat belt and helmet while driving cars and two-wheelers as the case may be. The officer also advised against drunken driving.

Policemen from the police training centre at Kovaipudur and 100 employees of the FIMS Hospital took out a bike rally to create awareness on helmet wearing. The rally started from the hospital premises and wended its way to the hospital after passing through Sundarapuram junction, Saradha Mills road, Podhanur and Kurichi. Free helmets were given to 500 residents of Sundarapuram.
