School kids turn scientist at Rathinam’s Tinker Fest

‘Tinker Fest’- a project exhibition on Science and Robotics was organized by Rathinam International Public School at its campus in Eachanari, Coimbatore, on the 15th of October, 2019, coinciding with the birth anniversary of the Missile Man Dr. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam.

Tinker Fest is organized by schools that have the prestigious Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) funded by the Central Government body Niti Aayog. Rathinam International Public School which is equipped with the Atal Tinkering Lab, has taken up the initiative to regularly invite and support non- ATL schools to realize their innovative ideas in the form of Science projects. Schools are also welcome to visit Rathinam School’s ATL and work on their creative ideas.

Rathinam International Public School hosted ‘Tinker Fest’ as part of its ATL activities. A total of 9 schools and 73 students from the city and neighboring areas presented 35 projects in the exhibition which was open to students from Grade 3 to Grade12. There were around 250 visitors including teachers, parents and students.

A hands-on training session was also organized for students of Grade 8 to Grade 12. Thirty students created different projects using IR Sensors and LDR Module.

The guests at the exhibition included Chairman Rathinam Group of Institutions, Dr. Madan A. Sendhil, CEO  Manickam, Correspondent Mrs. Shima Sendhil, Principal, Rathinam International Public School, Dr. Sunanda, ATL in-charges  Dinesh,  Arun, Mrs. Kalyani,  Rudresh,  Barath Kumar and  Suraj.

The Chairman Dr. Madan A. Sendhil and the Correspondent Shima Sendhil distributed prizes and mementos to the winners.
