With the fear of Dengue spreading faster than the disease, earlier today it was announced by the Secretary, Health & Family Welfare Department, Dr.Beela Rajesh, IAS that approximately 3000 people in Tamil Nadu are in treatment for symptoms related to Dengue, so far.
She conveyed this at Chennai Stanley Hospital where she examined the activities that were being done. She distributed pamphlets containing awareness message about dengue to the public and also gave Nilavembu Kashayam to the patients in the hospital.
The secretary stated that 2,951 people in Tamil Nadu with symptoms of dengue are getting treated in various hospitals across the state, and since North Chennai region has been affected largely by Dengue, she said enough attention is being taken there. So far one person has died due to dengue, said Dr.Beela Rajesh.
