Kovai Medical Center and Hospital is organizing a Breast Cancer Camp from 1st October to 15th November, 2019. Besides free consultation, patients can avail the benefits of digital mammogram, hi-tech ultra sound scan, etc. at special concessional charges.
Dr. Rupa, Breast Radiologist at KMCH said Breast cancer is more prevalent among women in cities. She said Women, irrespective of age, if they have the following symptoms- breast pain breast lump, nipple discharge, nipple retraction, auxiliary swelling and strong family history of breast cancer they must immediately go for Consultation with a doctor.
Even if the above symptoms are not there, cancer screening is recommended for healthy women above 40 years of age. Talking about the camp, she said digital mammogram will be done at just Rs. 999/-. Similarly, hit-tech ultra sound scan will be done at just Rs. 450/-
These tests and screening enable early detection of breast cancer. Patients can also get the consultation from a lady doctor who is an expert in breast imaging. If detected at early stage, breast cancer can be completely cured with appropriate further treatments.
