CCTN brings handcrafted garments across India to Coimbatore

The Craft Council of Tamil Nadu (CCTN) is hosting Srishti –an Exhibition cum sale of various handcraft items – in Suguna Kalyanamandapam, Peelamedu from 12.9.2019 to 14.9.2019.

Srishti is a fundraiser of CCTN organized with the lone support of the Council and the revenue generated through the program will be used to organize Crafts Bazaar which provides a platform to the craftsmen in both textiles and handicrafts from all over India to exhibit their wares. The funds are also used to provide design and tool inputs to needy craftsmen.

The inauguration was held on 12.9.2019. Jaishri Ravi, Chairperson, CCTN inaugurated the event. She conveyed that there are 65+ stalls in the exhibition. The stalls include handcrafted men’s wear, pure silk and cotton saris from Assam, pure silk kurtas with hand embroidery from Mumbai, block printed cotton fabrics and hand-worked night wears from Lucknow, crwel embroidery from Kashmir and in-door plants, bonsai trees and silver coated gift items. There are 3 stalls for snacks and quick bites too.
