Confederation of Indian Industry, Young Indians and Coimbatore Medical College & Hospital organized World Organ Donation Day event to promote Organ Transplantation in Coimbatore. The event was held on 13.8.2019 at The Residency Towers.
The Welcome Remarks was given by R.Varadarajan, Chairman, CII Coimbatore Zone & Wholetime Director, Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals Ltd.
Dr.R.V.Ramani, Convenor, Healthcare Panel, CII Coimbatore Zone & Founder, Sankara Eye Care Institutions, India; Dr.S.Raja Sabapathy, Project Chairman, CII-Yi Gift an Organ & Director, Ganga Hospital addressed the gathering.
Dr.Vijaya Baskar, Minister for Health and Family Welfare delivered the Keynote Address and S.P.Velumani, Minister for Municipal Administration, Rural Development & Implementation of Special Program, Govt of Tamil Nadu delivered the Inaugural Address.
Dr.R.Kanthimathy, Member Secretary, TRANSTAN; K.Rajamani, District Collector, Coimbatore and Dr.B.Asokan, Dean, CMCH were the other special guests.
During the event, Manitham, a collaborative project among all Private Hospitals of the city to effectively facilitate Organ Donation in Coimbatore was launched by the Dignitaries.
The event also witnessed the Felicitation of Medical personnel, Administrative Officials and Donor Families who played a significant role in Organ Donation in the city.
