Danushkodi , although remains an abandoned town is still a popular tourist in India which attracts larger tourists. But due to the current weather changes, the town has faced dearth of eager visitors. As per reports, the monstrous winds that are prevailing in Dhanushkodi have given rise to strong sandstorms .
The regions between M.R.Chathiram and Kambi Padu has witnessed several sand mounds being created due to the intensity of sandstorm. This has made traveling via vehicles impossible. Due to the alarming speed of the wind, the government has asked the fishermen to not go for fishing until further announcement.
For the next five days, the fishermen of Pamban and Rameswaram region have been instructed to remain home as the wind is sending storms in the ocean. The tourists and the fishermen have been affected by the wind.
