The Orientation Program for the first year B.E/B.Tech students of Sri.Ramakrishna Engineering College was held on the 29th and 31st of July 2019 at the College auditorium.
Lakshminarayanaswamy, Joint Managing Trustee and V. Ramakrishna, Chief Operating Officer, SNR Sons Charitable Trust, presided over the function respectively.
Jaya Krishnan Appusamy, Director-Technology, CTS, Coimbatore, was the Chief Guest of the first day. Prasanth Thupili, Senior Director, Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems, Americas, Inc. was the Guest of Honor and delivered the special address. The Chief Guest in his speech, at the outset briefed about the current scenario of the job market in today’s technological world. In this regard, he opined that job opportunities are plenty and one needs to become highly competitive to catch the eye of the world. To substantiate his talk, he encapsulated four much needed qualities for an engineer, namely Innovation, Networking, Positive Attitude and Situational Awareness. With these qualities one can become a competent engineer the corporate look for.
Anthony Cruze, Project Director, Ericsson India Ltd. Mumbai was the Chief Guest for the second day. He congratulated the future engineers for having chosen the right institution which is known for very good Industry – Connect. He urged the students to make use of the opportunities in right way. He added that one is here in this world by choice and not by chance. He further motivated the students to give the wings, the fire that is deep within oneself. It is up to each one to make this life glow by making the right choice. Finally, he concluded his speech by stating that technology changes rapidly hence one should constantly keep up-skilling and do multi-tasking in order be fully equipped for the life after four years.
As a part of the function, Principal introduced the faculty and Professors to the students. The Chief Guest distributed the prizes to the toppers branch-wise. Subject toppers of the previous year were also awarded with certificates and cash prize.
