Workshop on Think Tank Initiation for IPR Policy Implementation at Bharathiar University

Intellectual Property Rights cell (IPR cell), Bharathiar University, Coimbatore is conducting Think Tank Initiation for IPR Policy Implementation for university faculties by Intellectual Property Rights cell (IPR cell) in the University campus during 26th & 27th, July 2017. The workshop was inaugurated at 10.30 AM today (26.7.17) at DRDO–BU–CLS seminar hall, Bharathiar University.

The workshop was presided over by Honorable Prof. Dr. A. Ganapathi, Vice Chancellor, Bharathiar University. His presidential address was focused on the strengthening the need of Intellectual Property rights in all fields of the university science and technology departments. He demanded the young faculties to come in front for novel findings for the concern of mankind.

The Chief Guest of the workshop Prof. Dr. M. Kanthababu, Director Center for Intellectual Property Rights, Anna University, Chennai, inaugurated the workshop by explaining the value of patent in the ranking system of universities, he mentioned, universities are the hub of novel findings and there is an urgent need of getting deep knowledge of IPR and finally he added the importance of the workshop to get excel in IPR policies. He elaborated the value and importance of filing patents in India. Patents are highly required to improve the fame of an individual by providing a unique recognition.

The proper way for filing patents and the valid method for its approval from the government of India was illustrated in a perfect manner with apt examples and simplification. Awareness of patenting in India has to be insisted in every student’s thoughts for the national scientific and industrial development.

Prof. Dr. R. Saravana Selvan, Dean – Research, Bharathiar University, felicitated and narrated the importance of patents towards the growth of research institutes in India. In his Felicitation, Prof. Dr. A. Rajendran, Dean Faculty of sciences, Bharathiar University, highlighted the current trend and opportunity in the area of research that can offer a chance of getting closer to Intellectual property rights. He addressed the gathering for the need of awareness about the patent and technology transfer and many other fields of Intellectual property rights that can have wonders in the developing word.
