SREC first runner-up in RPA Hackathon

The Bot Fabricators Team from Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore won the first runner-up position and cash prize worth Rs. 1.25 lakhs at the TechGig Code Gladiator 2019 Robotic Process Automation 24 hour Hackathon held during 21-22 June 2019 powered by Jio and theme sponsored by UiPath at JioTalks, Mumbai.

This event had over 2000 participants grouped into more than 75 teams. The hackathon comprised of three rounds and close to 20 teams were shortlisted for the final stage based on their ranking in the scoreboard.

The prototype “Intelligent Toll plaza for highways” was developed under the theme Robotic Process Automation in our day-to-day life. This prototype was developed in UiPath platform and notifies miscreant(s) details using number plate images captured. Using this detail the stolen vehicle and fine imposed is notified to the concerned people via SMS and the same updated in the relevant websites of authorities.

The team from Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore comprised of Final year BTech(IT) students: Bhavesh Gupta and Karthik Prabhu and mentored by  Preethi Harris, Associate Professor of Information Technology. The project developed at the end of 24 hours was demonstrated in front of panel members that included Directors and HRs of RelianceJio, Techgig, UiPath, Robert Bosch etc.
