Chandrans Yuva to plant 2 lac saplings in Covai

Chandrans Yuva Foundation, to increase the “Green cover” of the city, came out with a plan for the city called “Kasthuri Vanam”- a Go Green and Grow Green initiative. This was done as a part of World Environmental Day Celebrations. This initiative kick started with a tree sapling program at Noyyal River side in Vellalore at SSVM World School in Coimbatore, recently.

The foundation’s aim is to plant 2 lakhs saplings across Coimbatore. They have stated in a press release, that they are ready to join hands with any organization to plant trees where there is a proper space to maintain for growing trees.This initiative was done at the Noyyal river side at SSVM school, so that the message of keeping the environment oxygen rich, shady and the commitment to combat climate change reaches the school kids and parents.

Rajamani, District Collector, Coimbatore, Sujith Kumar, Superintendent of Police, Coimbatore District, Manimekalai Mohan, Founder and Managing Trustee of SSVM Institutions, were the special guests present at this wonderful environmental day program at the school campus.

Speaking to Press and Media, S Shasikala, CEO of Chandrans Yuva foundation said “this is to improve the green cover of the city. We are also developing a tree sapling nursery at Prison campus and are planning to expand our vision on the Go Green concept”
