PSG Nursing spreads awareness on Air Pollution

Students’ participation in spreading awareness on social issues can easily inspire a huge amount of people. Some of the global issues that need the support of young volunteers include reducing the level of air pollution.

Fortunately on this year’s World Environment Day, the UN had given the theme “Beat Air Pollution” and many youngsters of Coimbatore contributed their time and creativity to turn that theme into truth. The students of PSG College of Nursing are one among the many eco-conscious youth of the city and in connection with the World Environment Day Celebration, the students  and faculty of PSG College of Nursing organized “World Environment Day awareness program” on 5.06.2019 in Fun Republic Mall between 4.00 P.M. and 5.00 P.M.

The program highlighted upon the importance of the environmental challenges the world faces, ill-effects and measures to protect our environment. The students conveyed the message of preserving nature and reducing air pollution by holding placards and visuals in the mall. 25 B.Sc Nursing IV-year students actively participated in creating awareness through flash mob and mime show. At the end, the programme, plant saplings were given to the public to create Eco-Friendly Environment.

The students were guided by Jayasudha, Principal, PSG College of Nursing. She  oined as a volunteer and distributed saplings to the shoppers at the mall.
