Build Competency & Keep Reinventing yourself

PSG College of Technology hosted the Award Ceremony for its UG Engineering Stream of 2019 on 30th May in the college Quadrangle.

L.Krishnan, MD, TaeguTec India Pvt Ltd, Bengaluru was the Chief Guest while Dilip, MD, Rockwell Automations India Pvt.Ltd, Noida was the Guest of Honor.

R.Rudramoorthy, Principal, PSG College of Technology declared the ceremony open.

L.Krishnan in his address said “In our college times, we had a big ATM called parents. However after graduating,  you all need to find your own way.” He conveyed to the gathering that there are some important priorities for graduating students that needs their attention. “You need to build your competency and keep reinventing yourself. The world is changing and the degrees you have is just a passport. You need to have the skills to learn quickly, co-ordinate with others, have good communication skills and the ability to convince people. Most of all, you should learn from your mistakes and not repeat it. Observe what you like to do, build a career based on it, then your jobs will not become boring.”

He conveyed that changes are rapid in today’s world and one shouldn’t stop learning and must have relentless focus.  He wanted the graduates to not have unnatural stress in their lives by comparing their success with others. “Comparisons bring bitterness and it brings unhappiness. Enjoy the life you have, watch good movies, have a healthy and happy life”, he said.

Dilip while addressing, appreciated PSG Tech and said “The Industry-Academic Relationship in this college is just outstanding. What other organizations are practicing, the students of PSG Tech learn” He also stated in his address that the future jobs in the world will be totally different from what the world offers today. “Your will to change will decide your success. You have to take some risks and shouldn’t deny yourself the opportunity to learn something new. He echoed the words of Alvin Toffler ” The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.”

Following his speech, 1293 students from 15 UG disciplines of PSG Tech received their degrees from the Chief Guest and Guest of Honor.
