Isaignani ilayaraja and playback singer S.P. Balasubrahmanyam had a small reunion recently in a recording theatre for a rehearsal which is possibly for the ‘Isai Celebrates Isai’ event which is aptly set on the 76th birthday of Ilayaraja.
The photos taken during their meeting show the duo back in their cordial nature. The relationship got affected after SPB hosted several concerts around the world singing songs from films in which he sang and that were composed by Ilayaraja.
But putting all behind, the two will be collaborating for the ‘Isai Celebrates Isai’ event which is a fundraiser for Cine Musicians Association. The event will be held on EVP Film City in Chennai on June 2.
While S.P.B and Ilayaraja have cooled their small feud, the latter has sparked a new controversy by criticizing the movie 96 for making use of his songs. He criticized that just because the movie is set in the past period, doesn’t mean that they have to use my songs to denote that it’s past. They could have used their own creations to bring songs that resemble the bygone period. Depending/using the old songs shows the impotency in prevalence.
