Coimbatore District Basketball Association (CDBA) will be conducting the 54th All India Basketball Tournament for Men and the 18th All India Basketball Tournament for Women which will see the country’s leading basketball teams compete for the ultimate glory.
This year, these tournaments are scheduled to take place between 27th May and 1stJune 2019. Eight leading men and women’s teams of the country have been selected for the tournament.
In Men’s tournament, (Pool A) includes : Chennai – Income Tax, Delhi – Indian Railways, New Delhi – Indian Army & Karnataka – Bank of Baroda. (Pool B) Indian Navy–Lonavola, Chennai – Indian Bank, New Delhi – Indian Airforce &Coimbatore District Basketball Association (CDBA), Coimbatore.
In Women’s tournament, (Pool A) includes : Hubli – Southwest Railways, Secunderabad – South Central Railways, Trivandrum – Kerala Police & Arise Steel. (Pool B) Kolkatta – Eastern Railways, Trivandrum – Kerala State Electricity Board, Chennai – Southern Railways &Coimbatore District Basketball Association (CDBA), Coimbatore.
The winning team in Men will be awarded Rs.1,00,000 &Nachimuthu Gounder Cup while the Runners will get Rs.50,000 & Dr.N.Mahalingam Trophy. Second Winner will get Rs.20,000 and Second Runners will receive Rs.15,000. For Women, the winning team will awarded Rs.50,000 & C.R.I. Pumps Trophy while the Runners will receive Rs.25,000 & Trophy. The second winner will get Rs. 15,000 and second runner will get Rs.10,000
This tournament will begin on the evening of 27th May 2019. The teams will play on league basis till 30th May 2019. The Semi-Finals & Finals will be on 31st May 2019 & 1st June 2019 respectively. All the matches will be conducted at V.O.C. Park Basket Ball Court. Entry is free for the public.
