Football enthusiast around the world are getting more excited by the minute as the Special Olympics International Football Championship 2019 draws close. The Championship which is being spearheaded by chairman Amar Paul Reddy will witness the participation of both men’s and women’s team from nearly 25 countries around the world. The event is scheduled to take place at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Chennai between 3rd and 6th August 2019 in the presence of Olympians special athletes celebrities and the general population.
Coimbatore kicked off the 75 day countdown to the event with the press meet on 19th May Sunday at the Le Meridien Hotel along with “Keepie Uppie” challenges at various locations around the city.
The press meet was addressed by MS John Nagarajan, senior sports manager of Special Olympics Asia Pacific, R.Elumalai, Lion International Dist.Chair Person 326 and Cilvin.J, Founder of Evoke Media, hosting partner of SOIFC 2019. Medal winning Indian special athletes were honoured at the meet and were present during the Keepie Uppie challenges to motivate the participants.
