Kumaraguru College of Technology, on 27 and 28 April 2019 hosts the Graduation Ceremony 2019 for the students of the batch 2018. A total of 1547 students from 14 undergraduate and 15 postgraduate programmes are receiving their degree with 106 students securing first class with distinction and 1245 students securing first class. KCT stands today as an institution of excellence in technical education with 35 years of illustrious service to the students, many of whom are shining as leaders and contributors to development, across the world. Parents and families of the graduates are present at the Graduation ceremony that is happening at the Ramanandha Adigalar Auditorium in Kumaraguru campus.
The Graduation Ceremony 2019 is a two day event held in three sessions. The students of the B.E, B.Tech, M.E and M.Tech programmes will be conferred the degree today and the students of MBA and MCA will be conferred the degree tomorrow.
The dignitaries present for the first session of ceremony on 27 April are the Chief Guest, Shri. Murugavel Janakiraman, Founder and CEO, Matrimony.com, Shri. Balasubramaniam, Correspondent, Kumaraguru Institutions, Shri Shankar Vanavarayar, Joint Correspondent, Kumaraguru Institutions, Dr. J. Senthil, Principal, KCT and Heads of Academic departments.
The first session commenced with welcome address delivered by the Joint Correspondent, Shankar Vanavarayar. Dr. J Senthil, the Principal of KCT presented the advancements and achievements of the faculty, students and college in 2018 – 2019.
The Chief Guest of the morning session Murugavel Janakiraman, Founder and CEO, Matrimony.com in his graduation day address enlightened the young graduands about four important practices to success, the practice of good physical health, mental health, intellectual capacity building and spiritual alignment to go through success and challenges as one.
The Chief Guest of the afternoon session M.Ponnuswami, Chairman and Managing Director, Pon Pure Chemicals Group in his graduation day address spoke about his success mantras that helped him and his company grow. Coming from a humble farming community, he is the first graduate in the family and he is a self-made man. Circumstance demanded him to get initiated into business. Some of the important values upheld by the speaker to become successful include Integrity, maintaining Goodwill, being grateful to people who help you and decentralizing the power within the organization. Never be pessimistic because India is a land of opportunities he said.
The Chief Guests for the third session will be Sanjay Jaju IAS, Jt. Secretary, Department of Defence Production, CEO, Defence Innovation Organization (DIO), Ministry of Defence, Government of India who will deliver the graduation address and confer the Degree.
