Shiv Nadar University (SNU) which is situated in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh is one of India’s leading universities. He said, SNU focuses on 4 aspects – Multidisciplinary Educational Programs, Research focused curriculum, Student Centric approach and a comprehensive system of education.
By multidisciplinary, he said that students from different major can do a minor program if they qualify the criteria. He said a student belonging to B.Sc Computer Science department has landed in the famous Goldman Sachs after he came out successfully doing a minor program in Economics.
Rajeev Kumar pointed that when English major does a minor in Computer Science, his/her opportunities become significantly high in making it big in their career.
This has become possible in SNU because of the way the curriculum of SNU has been designed. Its curriculum is prepared on par with international standards. This curriculum is carried to the students by a highly competent faculty who are from the best universities in the world.
SNU is a 24/7 running univ. in which the teachers like the students are given residential facilities and they teach even after college hours. Through a program called Opportunity for Undergraduate Research (OUR), research activities are encouraged in the 2nd year of UG onwards and their findings are published in reputed journals.
SNU has a Career Development Center (CDC) which focuses on placement. You may think this is something every college has these days and it is mandatory for a college to do so. But Rajeev said even after becoming Alumni, the CDC will continue to support the graduates from SNU and even help them get newer jobs.
The students can do ‘On Campus Jobs’ that will make them understand how the work culture of the industry will be. Students can take part in managing the library, providing support for software development and much more for which they will be paid.
SNU is also generously offering merit scholarships to students who qualify its eligibility criteria. 91% of students who will graduate from SNU this year are already placed in ace organizations while the remaining 9% have chosen to pursue higher studies.
