First edition of NICTT inaugurated in Coimbatore

When we talk about textiles, the immediate thing that comes to our mind is clothing and fashion but there are several things beyond it. For instance, our soldiers need flexible clothing that could support them physically in their activities, they need vests, water resistant suits, durable suits for different purposes.

Even for civilians, if we have the right light weight and thin material for rain coats, which could be folded like a hand kerchief, wouldn’t we all carry one in our bags?

This is where Technical Textiles come in to not just fill the void of demands but usher better innovation that could provide solutions.

In this regard, the First edition of National Investment Conclave on Technical Textiles (NICTT) was held in Coimbatore at The Residency Towers on 24.04.2019.

Raghavendra Singh, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, Govt of India was the Chief Guest while AK Singh, Director General, Life Sciences – DRDO acted as the Guest of Honor.

P.Nataraj, Chairman, SIMA welcomed the gathering.

He said, “In the previously done programs we have connected with the people who are already in the area. We wish to connect with those who are volunteering to invest in Technical Textiles.
