CDWA completes 25 Years

The Coimbatore District Welfare Association (CDWA) with humble beginnings in 1993, was registered under The Tamil Nadu Societies. The main aim of the Association is to serve the poor & elderly people in and around Coimbatore.

Significant milestones achieved by the Association includes- donating a building worth Rs.5 lakhs at Mettupalayam for the mentally challenged children, idea for Senior Citizens Home for the under privileged, conceived in 2000, and by 2002 the first phase of the Senior Citizens Home at Mathipalayam Village which can accommodate 20 (10 Male & 10 Female) residents at totally free of cost, was made fully functional.

The second phase of the Senior Citizens Home was completed with the philanthropic help from the then District Collector of Coimbatore District, M.Karunagaran, I.A.S and other benefactors worth of Rs.60lakhs. The Collector also allotted 25 cents of land at Kavundampalayam, for the Senior Citizens Day Care Center and the project “ADARAVU” had its origin in January 2017. K.Ramasamy, Chairman of Roots Industries, and a few corporate donated munificently for the noble project.
