Maxwell defends MSD after India lose 1st T20

After a brilliant performance against Australia in their own backyard, the men in Yellow started their India tour on a bright note. The First T20 began began in Vizag and Australia drew first blood to go up 1-0 in the two match series. Though Australia won the game off the last delivery in the 20th over, the entire spotlight was on former skipper MSD. The wicket was slow, had less bounce yet Dhoni was expected to cover the fence at will. The swashbuckling wicket-keeper batsman was criticized for his slow scoring rate with fans on twitter asking him to retire.

Well, they don’t know much about cricket is what Glenn Maxwell felt. The all-rounder from Australia defended the veteran batsman by terming him as the best finisher of the game. Maxwell said, the wicket was a difficult one to bat on and for Dhoni, situations were at the worst with wickets continuously tumbling at the other end. He had the job to anchor the ship, which he did pretty well to post a total where bowlers can atleast have a chance to pull a rabbit out of the hat.
